Instructions are for the CSF-3XL cat Super Feeder®, but basic operation is the same for all Super Feeders®.
Remote timers shown are optionally supplied

First, install one one clear extension (1) on feeder and secure it with one small screw and washer on one side only, facing the "L" shaped metal bracket. Install the bracket with four 3/8" long screws (2). Install metal strap (3) with one small screw and no washer on front side. Install "L" bracket (4) and retaining strap to wood stand or other mount as shown with two large head screws on each side of bracket (4 ea. supplied)----Plug power adapter plug into feeder jack (5)----Plug power adapter directly into wall socket (6) (feeder should "dry" run for one cycle) Lift rubber plug (7) and turn white dial in blue controller clockwise to increase cycle time and counterclockwise to decrease cycle time. Move it in extremely small increments!---Push reset switch (8) with finger or screw driver to activate new cycle----Right side of rubber plug can also be pushed to reset (9).
Adjust black "volume" screw (10), so opening between roller and gate is about the size of the food so food does not flow straight through. Fill clear extension with dry food. Some pieces will initially fall through, but this is O.K. Place bowl under feeder and keep pushing reset switch and adjusting dial until you get right amount of food per cycle. If not enough for a given time, open the gate with the black screw by turning it counterclockwise. Time duration of feeder's own adjustable cycle is what primarily determines amount of food dispensed, not the remote timer. Program any remote timer of choice (11). If using timer with tabs, place or select "on" tab at time you want feeder to "trigger." Select "off" time 4 or 5 minutes later for digital timer, or 15 min., 30 min., or 1 hour for analog timer with tabs (depending on type of tabs). Program at least 45 minutes or more of "off" time between feed cycles to reset feeder (reset time can be shortened down to 1 min.--see instructions booklet on how to do that). Set rotary dial to current time or program current time in digital timer. Plug power adapter into remote timer (12/13), and select timer to auto mode, or auto-off on some digital timers. Most timers have an "override" function to manually turn the timer on. Finally, push reset button one final time or about 3-5 seconds to void the normal reset time while remote timer is off. The timer (13) above shows an analog timer with 15 min. duration "on" tabs, meaning that pushing out one tab is all you need to do (no "off" tabs). Plug remote timer in wall socket (14), and when timer comes on, the feeder will trigger and run through its feed cycle as pre-adjusted. If included, install 1.5 gallon hopper (15) on top of clear extension or additional clear extension with quart set-up, securing it with one small screw and washer on each side. Only tighten as needed to lock hopper in place. You will not need upper hopper strap with wood stand. Finally, finish filling your feeder with dry food. Lid (16) can also be secured with two small screws and washers. NOTE: Terminal strip underneath feeder can also be used instead of plug and jack by attaching other wire to terminals. If supplied with a DC power adapter, observe polarity--if feeder does not run, switch wires around. ONLY USE 6 TO 24 VOLT AC OR DC---DO NOT USE HIGHER VOLTAGE BECAUSE YOU WILL BURN UP THE UNIT AND VOID WARRANTY!!
Although these installation instructions are for the CSF-3 cat feeder, basic operation is the same for all Super Feeders®. Tip: You do not need to use screwdriver each time to remove lid, just squeeze upper front and back sides of hopper or extension.
